Our full members (who must be members of Belton Woods Golf Club) range from those who have just reached the age of 55 years to some who have left that birthday far behind! Golfers of all ability levels join in the activities of the Society. We also enjoy the company of a number of Friends of the Society who do not meet the age criterion, but enjoy participating in our programme.

The Society meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week, with principal competitions being held on the Wednesday. Monday and Friday are usually used for casual golf. In Spring and Summer, the meeting time (In the “Claret Jug” Bar) is around 0730/0745. In Autumn and Winter assembly time is usually 0800

Our programme includes the usual Medal and Stableford Competitions and there are regular matches against other clubs in the area. The Calendar gives a fuller list of coming activities.

The Seniors welcome new members to their section, and all information can be found on the seniors website

As the first main event of the year the annual Captain vs. Vice Captain match saw 32 Seniors participating on the Woods course, all filled with tea and coffee and looking forward to bacon butties at the Halfway House along with Phil Turrell’s home brewed hot drinks.
A leading contender for the “Cock Up Cup” is Mike Gulliford who unwittingly poured a shot of brandy into the sugar bowl – saying “did I really just do that!” As always the real winner was the Captain’s Charity, making £360 with £270 from the raffle and £90.30 from the Halfway House – thanks to Bob Clarke for the 30p!!
Thanks to all concerned
