I was honoured to be elected Captain of Belton Woods Seniors Section for 2017 and delighted to have David Toule as my Vice Captain.  Together with the rest of the committee we aim to encourage our members to enjoy their golf in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

We have a membership of over 70 Seniors, our golfers have an age upwards from 55, their handicaps from single figures upwards.

We meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the Claret Jug from around 7.45am in the summer and 8.15am in the winter. A random draw takes place which enables our members to play with a variety of partners.

There is also a very competitive side to our society, we have a monthly medal and monthly stableford which is organized using the same random draw. We have various other competitions throughout the year including an Away Day.

Everyone has the chance to play in the 20 matches, which are played against other clubs around the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire area.

My choice of charity this year is our local Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance which is based at RAF Waddington. Since the charity began over 22 years ago they have been called on for more than 17,200 missions.

With a skilled team of doctors and paramedics they can reach any point in the two counties within 20minutes.

Each mission costs £2,100 and they need £2.1m each year to keep flying and saving lives, we will be raising funds for them during my term in office.

Our website www.beltonwoodsseniors.co.uk has fast become an essential tool for us to communicate to our members, please have a look.

If you see me around the Club please say hello. If you are interested in joining you can contact me on 07597950007.
