CAPTAINS' DRIVE IN - SUNDAY 25TH MARCH 2018
The Captains Drive in took place on Sunday 25th March for the incoming Captains, Bruce Foster & Lesley Perrin. The day started with both Captains Driving off on the first tee. Members could guess on the distance of each drive, with the proceeds going towards the Captains Charities. The sun shone and around 70 players took part in an any- combination-better-ball-stableford competition. The course has dried out in the last week and there was some superb golf played in the favourable conditions.
The winners were:-
1st Place 47 points Rob Palframan & Gaynor Daykin
2nd place 45 points J Newton & N Dent
3rd place 43 points D Sutton & D Bates
4th place 42 points P Stothard & C Stothard
5th place 41 points OCB M Holland & S Baldwin
6th Place 41 points S Footitt & G Whewell

A great day was had by all especially after losing a few recent competitions due to the beast from the East. Many members stayed back for the prize giving and the Captains thanked everyone for playing.

Lady Captain's Day - 20th September 2018
Lady Captain Lesley chose Novelty Hats and Headwear as her teme for this year's Lady Captain's Day and the ladies didn't disappoint with both home made creations and embellished old favourites. A real change in temperatures made the day a little autumnal but didn't seem to affect the scorring.
Results:
4h Place: Fiona Illingworth with 35 points
3rd Place: Wendy Stewart with 36 points
2nd Place: Lis Isles with 39 points
1st Place: Caroline Hills with 40 points
Nearest The Pin: Caroline Hills
Longest Drive: Lis Isles
Winner of The Best Hat was Pat Hawcroft with her home made creation (although almost disqualified for carrying an extra club!). Here she is wearing her hat on the far left.
Vice Captain Julie White presented the Lady Captain with a engraved crystal bowl on behalf of the Ladies Section.
