Press Release

A Lincolnshire side is flying the flag for the county in a new national golf knockout competition.

Belton Woods GC are the last remaining Lincolnshire club in the last 16 of the inaugural 2022 British Inter-Clubs Mixed Team Championships that has attracted entries from all corners of the UK.

So far Belton Woods have beaten Stoke Rochford GC in round one, Norwood Park GC in round two and Belton Park GC in the third round.

Their reward in the last 16 is a place in the last four of the Midlands region and a home tie against Nottinghamshire champions Beeston Fields GC.

Postponed from last year, the championships are being played on a knockout basis with the four regional winners qualifying for the national finals in Portugal later in November.

Event director Kath Tusler said: “Mixed golf has increased in popularity in recent times and the competition aims to mirror the success of the national men’s and women’s team club competitions that have been running for many years.

“Clubs are enjoying the chance to play some competitive mixed golf against different clubs and we look forward to even more Lincolnshire clubs taking part next year.”

Golfers can follow the progress of their club on the draw page of www.mixedgolfevents.com

Entries for the 2023 championships open in September but clubs can pre-enter by emailing info@mixedgolfevents.com
