A last gasp win by Belton Woods Juniors takes them into the last 8 of the BCCS national junior knockout, where they will play Asby Decoy Juniors.
The match with Wearside Juniors had to be quickly rearranged after the match was cancelled because of a waterlogged course when the team was on its way on Saturday.
The hastily rearranged fixture on Thursday was decided on the last green with the last putt of the match when Edward Bellamy sank a 4 foot to secure the win for the team.
The team of Rory Dunbar, Captain, Edward Bellamy, Josh Buil and Izzy Linsley battled well on a tricky course against a strong Wearside team that had not been beaten on their own course.
The Belton Woods side have performed well this year, coming through some difficult away ties in this tournament.
A special thanks to the “Taxi” parents for making themselves available both for the original match and the rearranged fixture. Without their help these experiences would not be possible.
We wish the team well for the next round.
