Welcome to Belton Woods Golf Club
Established in 1991 and based at the outstanding 475 acre resort complex of DeVere Belton Woods near Grantham, Lincolnshire, our Golf Club is made up of four traditional sections; Men, Ladies, Juniors and Seniors.
With two Championship golf courses, Lakes par 72 and Woodside par 73, and complemented by a well designed nine-hole par 3 course, Belton Woods resort offers a challenge for golfers of all abilities and all ages. With its excellent 4 star 96 room hotel facility and many woodland lodges, Belton Woods has matured into one of the premier “must play” golf resorts in Lincolnshire.
The Championship Lakes Course at 6831 yards and multiple water hazards will offer a great test to all golfers. Long drives, accurate irons and solid putting will bring the very best out of this course.
The Championship Woodside Course at 6623 yards is now enhanced by three years of major bunker complex redesigns giving this course a truly unique feel and at times visually stunning challenge.
We hope our members will find everything needed to keep up to date with our club, including links to each section, Ladies, Juniors and Seniors, news, results, course and resort information, plus much more.
Belton Woods is a very friendly club and welcomes visitors to come and enjoy all the facilities the complex has to offer. You will find the golfing staff friendly and happy to do everything they can to make your visit an enjoyable one. We hope our visitors will continue to browse through our pages. Enjoy your virtual visit, then come to play and hopefully join our club, you will not be disappointed.
Club Captain Tony Waldren

It is a great honour for me to be the 2010 Belton Woods Captain. As captain I would like to welcome you to enjoy the two excellent eighteen hole golf courses that we have to offer. Both of these courses are constantly evolving to present an even more enjoyable challenge and I know our members are very proud of them. To visitors I invite you to come and be tested by our courses, you will receive a very warm welcome and I am sure will leave with many happy memories.
To the members I hope to play golf and socialise with as many of you as possible during the next 12 months. I welcome your views and ideas on how we can improve the Belton Woods golfing experience.
My charity this year is the Variety Club of Great Britain and I hope with your support to raise as much money as we can to help local children, please follow my progress on Captain’s Charity Page. On my charity day I will have a challenge that I hope all the members will get involved with. The challenge will be how fast we can get a golf ball around the Lakes course. I will invite both members and visitors to buy seconds for £1 on how long they think this will take. There will be many great prizes.
Remember these golfing laws:
No matter how bad your last shot, the worst is yet to come. This law does not expire on the eighteenth hole, since it has the supernatural tendency to extend over the course of a tournament, a summer and, eventually, a lifetime.
Your best round of golf will be followed almost immediately by your worst round ever. The probability of the latter increases with the number of people you tell about the former.
Have a great year and enjoy your golf.
Tony Waldren
Lady Captain Pat Haynes

The ladies at Belton Woods are a very friendly bunch who enjoy a good game of golf but also like to have a good laugh. We have two competition days, Saturdays and Wednesdays, and our ladies have the opportunity to play their monthly medals and stablefords on either of these days. In addition we offer a variety of trophy competitions, take part in all the major qualifiers available for ladies in the U.K. and meet other neighbouring clubs in our area in friendly encounters.
We are always pleased to welcome new members, whatever their golfing ability. So if you’re thinking about giving golf a go, or you already play and are looking for a club to join, you’ll find Belton Woods a friendly and encouraging environment.
Please feel free to come and join us.
Pat
Junior Captain Chris Haynes

We have a strong, successful and growing Junior Section, which is split into two groups, Eagles and Juniors. Our Eagles are the younger 5 to 12 year olds or those who are still learning the basics of golf. Our Juniors are the older, more experienced and more serious young players.
Our club nights run every Thursday evening from April through to the end of September, meeting at 5.00 pm on the putting green. From there the Eagles will normally go out to play on the course and new for this year are monthly friendly competitions. Our older Juniors take club nights as the opportunity for additional practice time, as well as helping the younger ones with their skills.
Golf for us is about enjoying what we do and trying to have fun, but keeping the traditions of good manners, good dress standards, good etiquette and care for the course. This last principle is especially important to me, as I am also a member of the Belton Woods Greens Staff.
Chris Haynes.
Senior Captain Colin Thornton

As Seniors Captain this year I look forward to welcoming any new 55 year old and above men who would like to join our happy band.
We meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at times advertised on the monthly program on the Seniors website. We have Medal and Stableford competitions each month plus, matches with other clubs from March to October.
Although we all enjoy the competitions the real strength of the section is the social golf. Just turn up on any social days and be sure of a game and some good company.
Why not come along and give it a try.
Colin
